Q2 2025

Happy second quarter peeps. First update ~ I did some recording for legend of fail!

Episodes 23 & 24

We’re a hell of a lot closer to the end then I realised. We only have one filming session left to finish off the game. that’s definitely a 2026 endeavour. I have lots of musings about how to end the long running series. Creating a DVD for it certainly. And possibly a autotuned music video using the various insults and catchphrases from our footage. Or docudrama style interviews in moody black and white discussing our shared trauma of playing with Faisal.

Annoyingly some of the webcam footage has crapped out, so a quarter of one episode will be full screen gameplay. But you know what people say. I have a face for radio.

Going in sequence with this post, so next I was tasked with drawing a t-shirt design.

Literally was just drawing as I was told. Couldn’t tell you the context if I wanted to!

I think it’s for my Dad’s pals pub, one of those exercises in hand cramping repetition, drawing every single hair.

I’ve continued my Kiltwalk shenanigans and did the Aberdeen Kiltwalk. It was a brisk 18 mile challenge. But it felt like 20 thanks to the rain and thunderstorms. Classic Scottish weather.

Me and my fellow hikists. (not a real word, I know)

A commission that had long been on the backburner was the second illustration for Mr Burnz. Here’s his finished piece.

He’s a boozy reimagining of the classic milkman trope.

I know the licence plate looks like it might say anal, and that’s a fun coincidence that ties in with the cartoons sense of humour. But it’s actually “Lana” his cats name.

Some close up sneek peeks of all the deets.

And as is tradition on this blog now. A timelapse GIF.

With A.I misuse for art rampant nowadays, I like to have a GIF to show I actually put in the work.

With that piece done, I decided to pivot to a new software for my next drawing. I got myself a copy of Clip Studio Paint to try being painterly. Here’s my first output with, and without the reference image.

Of course the first test drawing had to be Sonic fanart. You know me.

I’m a big fan of how the eyedropper tool handles. I have a ton of screenshots from the Sonic 3 movie I’d like to try redrawing like this. It’s such an amazing looking film, and it’s a great exercise in understanding lighting.

The creative process. I need to remember to turn on Clip Studios time-lapse feature for the next drawing.

Speaking of screenshot redraws, my next output for the software was my continuation of Kramer redraws.

“Beans? In this economy?”

It’s a ton of fun to do cartoons in Clip Studio. Deffo gonna be churning out more Kramers in the future.

Trying hard to nail that exaggerated Disney aesthetic

Will be continuing to get used to my shiny new software and make more Kramer & Shadow screenshot redraws (unusual combo I know).

So up next, I have 2 legend of fail episodes to edit and animate. Bit of a daunting task. Dundee Kiltwalk isn’t far away and I have storyboards fully conceptualised for my long fermenting “Jo-Ash” skit.
