Will go through this years work in chronological order. First arty thing I did this year was get my back tattoo finally finished! After years of deliberating, this was the final (or so I thought) design I settled on.
Fairly dense
But after the gruelling first half, I took it back to the drawing board to try and whittle it down somewhat (Tattoos are tough going ~ who knew?).
I feel as thought the gradients and paint splatter adds a bit more abstract flair.
And here’s the final result. Most likely my last tattoo for a good long while!
Important peoples name, and the flowers have symbolic significance.
First drawing drawing that kick started me this year is a birthday card for a co-worker. Here’s the progression of it.

Mad into her dancing & bar graphs apparently!
And here’s the final version.

I owe it to myself to actually watch Saturday Night Fever one of these days, now that I’ve referenced it in a drawing.
And for fun, here’s a animated progression GIF.

Just imagine some funky Tina Turner tunes.
And fresh off of that, I got to work on a long forgotten idea. Screenshot redraws from Seinfeld. I binged the show a few year back for the first time and took a shine to Kramer.

The Kramening.
I had it in my mind to do the redraws as exaggerated Disney style cartoons with simple two tone shading. But ended up getting carried away with the detail.

He reminds me so much of a Beano/Dandy cartoon character brought to life.
And speaking of neglect, now onto a long delayed commission for my pal Burnz. His second illustration. Here’s the work on it so far.

Imagine a Milkman. But beer instead!
I plan to have an array of female admirers gawking from the windows blowing him kisses and waving their underwear at him. As soon as I find out exactly what his type is 😉
That’s all to show for now. In April we have a legend of fail session planned, for real this time.
