So as mentioned last blog post, I got to work on a commissioned animation from Faisal. Here it is!

Lotsa in-jokes for our clique

So last Christmas, Faisal and Mark drummed up the script for what you’ve just seen. And Faisal covertly asked me to render it into an animation unbeknownst to Mark.

So not only did I work on this covertly, but I tricked Mark into recording his dialogue lines without him clocking what was actually going on behind the scenes 😎
If his lines sound like they were recorded on a laptop inside of a running car, that’s because they were.

Faisal, similar to his Bowiecube look, albeit streamlined for a bigger animation.
Here’s the animatic. We stayed quite close to the original idea. I tried to focus on timing and sound effects to emphasize the humour.

So this was a biggie! Around a whole minute of animation. Lot more ambitious then the brief skits at the start of Legend Of Fail episodes.

The other long on-going project at the tail end of this year was my home-made escape room! Here is the video detailing its creation and the night in question.

One might say my bad acting actually helps enforce the tone 😌

There isn’t too much more to show that isn’t covered here. One thing I do want to upload however is Becca’s drawing she kindly contributed toward it.

I wouldn’t want it lost to time, thanks to the image sharing site used on the business card having expiring links.

And that’s all from me for 2024! Starting next year, I have one more illustration commission to finish off for Burnz! And fingers crossed and stars aligning I can get Legend Of Fail back on track!
